I find that using galleries and categories mindfully makes the material on Wikimedia Commons easier to use and more enjoyable - more beautiful, even. So when I can take the time, I hunt for missing or poor categorizations and for pictures to add to my favourite galleries.

My special interests include:

• The Algal bloom gallery and the related Category:Algal blooms and Category:Phytoplankton
• The Fungi gallery and the Category:Mushrooms
• City, town or region related galleries: Helsinki, Vuosaari
• City, town or region related categories: Category:Nature of Finland

Can you help me with these?

• Figure out if these two are slightly differently cropped and rotated versions of the same satellite picture

Who's this Ronja, anyway?

I registered on Wikimedia Commons 9 August 2007, after contributing (small scale) to Wikipedia for little over a year.

In Real Life (TM) I am, in order of priority:

• parent to my primary school age children
• best friend, partner and colleague to my husband
• translator (English - Swedish - Finnish)
• student, researcher and teacher of
  • usability and security of mobile early warning (public warning / emergency alert),
  • disaster preparedness and socio-technical systems in general, and
  • information and communication technology, mainly from the viewpoint of
    • trustworthiness (safety, dependability and security) of technological solutions
• a dedicated and increasingly vocal Bright
• a small scale voting activist
